EPA releases final Clean Power Plan

The US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) final rules forcutting carbon dioxide emissions from power plants, releasedon 3 August, apply more pressure on the coal industry.The agency raised its target for CO2 emissions cuts to 32pcby 2030 from its previously proposed 30pc. It also boostedtargets for some of the states that are most heavily-dependenton coal-fired power.
