Shenhua September sales volumes rise

Chinese mining company Shenhua expects strong coal sales in September as a result of rising power demand and weaker hydropower output. Shenhua, the country’s biggest mining company, sold 51.2mn t of coal in September, a year-on-year increase of 40pc. Seaborne coal sales in the period rose on the year by 51.7pc to 26.4mn t. It is unclear whether seaborne volumes are included in coal sales volumes. The company’s gross power generation increased year on year by 25pc to 19.4bn kWh, Shenhua said.
