US water infrastructure needs US$271 billion investment

On January 13 the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a survey showing that US$271 billion is needed to maintain and improve the nation's wastewater infrastructure, including the pipes that carry wastewater to treatment plants, the technology that treats the water, and methods for managing stormwater runoff. Under the category of recycled water distribution, the survey found that $6.1 billion is needed for conveyance and further treatment of water for reuse.
