PRB exports expected to grow over five years

Powder River basin (PRB) coal exports are expected to increase over the next five years, an energy consultant said. If coal export terminals are built in Washington and Oregon, PRB producers could export 100mn short tons (90mn t) of coal to feed demand from Asia, particularly from South Korea, China, Japan and Taiwan, Hellerworx transportation and energy consultant Jamie Heller said at a US Energy Information Administration (EIA) energy conference in Washington, DC.
