Hodges Resources eyes new project in Botswana

Australian exploration company Hodges Resources has found large reserves of thermal coal suitable for opencast mining at its Moiyabana coal project in Botswana. A coal exploration target of 1.4bn-1.6bn t has been defined over an area of 140km?, of which an estimated 660mn t is suitable for opencast mining. Initial drill holes at the Moiyabana coal project have confirmed the presence of wide intersections of coal seams at open pit mineable depths, the company said.
