Rio Tinto names new chief executive

Jean-Sébastien Jacques will succeed Sam Walsh as chiefexecutive of UK-Australian resources firm Rio Tinto from 1 July.Rio Tinto announced its succession plan today for whenWalsh retires after 25 years with the company.Jacques, 44, took over Rio Tinto’s copper division when hejoined the company Rio Tinto in October 2011, and added coalto his products group last year. He previously was group strategydirector at India-based steelmaker Tata Steel from 2007-11.
