South African physical prices strengthen

South African physical coal prices rose by more than $2/t today as a higher-value spot trade supported the market. The 50,000t cargo for July delivery traded as part of a sleeve deal at $63.83/t fob Richards Bay (RB). One leg of the sleeve went through at $64/t fob RB and the second at $63.65/t fob RB with exchange of futures for physical (EFP). The fob RB daily price was assessed at $63.72/t, $2.05/t higher than the price at the end of last week.
