Calendar contracts fall in thin trade

Calendar coal contracts on the European over-the-counter market fell by around 10-35 cents dollars/t today, as selling focused on the back of the curve. Contracts opened flat compared with yesterday before shedding around 90 cents dollars/t by midday, as sluggish eurozone data dampened the market. But firming crude prices helped swaps recover some of the losses before the close. Ice December Brent was up by 30 cents dollars/bl to 112.19 dollars/bl at 17:20 GMT, after hitting an intra-day low of 111.62 dollars/bl at midday.
