Strike hits South African coal mine output

Strike action has halted output at Anglo American’s 3.9mn t/ yr Kleinkopje thermal coal mine in South Africa, while unions expect no immediate restart to operations. Mineworkers commenced strike action at the mine, located in the country’s Mpumalanga province, on the evening of 6 April and operations have been suspended, according to mineworkers union NUM and Anglo American.
