UK installed capacity to fall by 6.2GW in April

UK installed generation capacity will fall by 6,209MW on 1April 2016, data from transmission system operator NationalGrid shows.The latest transmission energy capacity (TEC) registershows that the 1,953MW Fiddlers Ferry coal-fired powerplant owned by UK utility SSE will reduce its TEC capacity by498MW on 1 April.The 260MW Deeside gas-fired power plant owned byFrench firm Engie will reduce its TEC to 1MW from 260MWfrom 1 April.
