Norway’s $885bn sovereign wealth fund will no longer invest in companies that emit large amounts of greenhouse gases (GHGs), the government said. Climate issues are already taken into account by Norges Bank Investment Management, which has now divested from 114 companies in the past three years for sustainability or social reasons. But the finance ministry has now asked the fund to launch a further review of all investments that play a role in emitting GHGs.
