Asian buyers snap up low-priced Chinese plate

Trading activity involving Chinese plate picked up in the past week due to the emergence of low export offers from China, although prices are expected to pick up soon. A trader in eastern China told Fastmarkets that the company he works for had bought several thousand tonnes of plate from a mill in northern China at a base price of $450 per tonne last week.
