US hits Mexico with steep wire mesh CVDs

The United States Commerce Department has rolled out high preliminary countervailing duties on Mexican standard steel welded wire mesh. Commerce has preliminary determined that Mexican producers and exporters of wire mesh, which is made from wire rod, received subsidies of as little as 1.02 to as much as 102.09, the agency said in a release dated Monday November 30. The department will, therefore, instruct US Customs and Border Protection to collect cash deposits from importers based on those amounts.
