China tightens control on small coal boilers

The Chinese government is increasing limits on small-scalecoal-fired boilers in northern China, in a further bid tocombat persistent air pollution.China’s environmental protection ministry (MEP) hasasked local governments in Beijing, Tianjin municipality,Hebei province and Henan province to “strengthensupervision and inspection”, and more closely enforce banson illegal coal burn at small coal-fired boilers.
