Dutch shipbuilders - the generalists

A lot of shipyards in the Netherlands have built the full range of smaller vessel types and an individual Dutch shipbuilder's output is often remarkably diverse. Almost all produce large numbers of the general cargo vessels so favoured by small Dutch shipping companies. For example, Barkmeijer, of Stroobos, has built nearly 100 vessels and is commissioned to provide four newbuildings for Wagenborg Shipping and a trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) for UK Dredging.
