European delivered coal prices edged lower this week, with stockpiles at northwestern ports remaining high as prolonged summer weather weighed on coal consumption. Delivered prices opened lower this week, falling by 66cents/t to $75.50/t cif Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) on 15 September, as the daily index came under pressure from December's entry into the 90-day assessment window. A sharp decline in the value of October cargoes pulled prices to a two-month low of $74.82/t cif ARA on 16 September, from which level the daily index has since slipped further to $74.41/t cif ARA.
