Fastmarkets publishes trade logs for its key price assessments and indices to bring more transparency into the markets it covers and the pricing process it applies. Fastmarkets’ daily steel hot-rolled coil index, fob mill US averaged $68.23 per hundredweight ($1,364.60 per short ton) for the week ended Friday April 16, up by 2.51 from $66.56 per cwt the previous week and the highest weekly average recorded by Fastmarkets since 1960. This overtook the previous week’s record and marks the 12th week in a row of record-breaking highs.
