Firework fears -reducing stress and anxiety

FEAR of fireworks is a common behavioural problem, with an estimated 45 per cent of dogs in the UK showing signs of fear when they hear fireworks'.Commonly seen behaviours from dogs that are fearful of fireworks are hiding, cowering, panting, salivating, shaking, trembling, attention seeking, pacing, toileting in the house and destructive behaviours such as chewing or scraping at doors, as well asrunning away, excessive barking and refusing food. But not all of these behaviours are interpreted as a fearful response by owners, and some behaviours that are not destructive or obviously outward signs may be ignored or not seen as a problem.
