In 2020, the pet food industry was expected to generate ￡2.9 billion (Wall, 2020). It is a very complex area with such a wide range of variants that it can seem daunting to many owners and, as clinical teams, we are unable to keep up to date with every new food that comes on the market.With that in mind, we should ensure we have a good general understanding of the needs of the animals in our care, as well as being able to decipher the labels on foods that may be presented to us.
