Cruise Europa Launched For Grimaldi

The third of a series of four cruise-ferries ordered by Naples-based Grimaldi Group was launched on 14 March at Fincantieri's Castel-lammare di Stabia shipyard. Delivery of the 54,320gt Cruise Europa is scheduled for next October. Propulsion is a twin-screw arrangement, with two Waertsilae 12V46 engines in port and starboard engine rooms generating 12,600kW at 500rpm. Classed by RINA, length overall is 225m, beam 30.4m and draught 7.5m. Service speed is 25kt and the vessel is capable of reaching 28kt.
