Penultimate SX-class for OOCL

Orient Overseas Container Line of Hong Kong has placed in to service the penultimate vessel in a long series of post-Panamax box ship sisters from Samsung HI of South Korea. The 8,063teu OOCL London is the 15th vessel in a series of 16 SX-class vessels. The initial ship of the series, OOCL Shenzhen, was commissioned in 2003. OOCL London has loa of 323m, beam of 42.8m and loaded draught of 14.5m. Classed by ABS, it was ordered in October 2006 at $119M. It has refrigerated container capacity of 710 units and is powered by a single MAN BW 12K98MC-C main engine giving a service speed of 25kt.
