New BWM systems gain approval

Eight ballast water treatment systems were granted basic approval for their active substances and another four systems achieved final approval at the March meeting of the IMO's Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 60). The basic approvals were for SiCURE from Siemens, BalPure from Severn Trent DeNora, Ocean Guard from DESMI, Sunrui BWMS, Blue Ocean Guardian (BOG), Hyundai Hi's HiBallast, OceanGuard from Qingdao Headway and Kwang San's En-Ballast.
