Cat combines monitoring roles

Remote engine and other system monitoring has become a potential tool for ship operators in recent years with information from sensors attached to the machinery being transmitted ashore for attention by the owners or equipment suppliers. Combining this activity with ship tracking, Caterpillar Marine Power Systems has launched gplink, a satellite/cellular-based tracking, monitoring and notification system for Cat-powered yachts and vessels.
