Shell Alexia S4, a new cylinder oil from Shell Marine Products, will address a wide range of operational conditions for various vessels and engine types, fuel specifications, loads and climates, the company claims. "Over 25,000 hours of field trials have been conducted with Shell Alexia S4 under a wide range of operation conditions, including high- and-low sulphur fuels, different climatic conditions, along with slow steaming, flexible steaming and high-load operations," Surinderdeep Singh, GM of Shell Marine Products, told Solutions. "This means vessels no longer need to carry multiple oils," he noted.
