ECDIS-makers to spread update message

Manufacturers of ECDIS equipment are to publish information on the latest versions of the software used to operate their equipment, to help clarify certain anomalies that had been identified with some older systems. The action comes following a meeting of equipment-makers and the International Hydro-graphic Organization (IHO), hosted by the IMO secretariat in early September. The meeting was the latest of a series of steps taken to address the issue, on which IHO held a workshop earlier this year.
