Canadian asphalt markets were quiet again this week. Lettings have given some clarity to prices in the western provinces, but eastern markets have not seen the same number of new lettings for asphalt cement. Participants anticipate prices will open up in the spring where they left off at the end of last year, around the C$730-765/t range for PG 58-28 in Toronto. March wholesale numbers out of Alberta remained relatively opaque, but rumors had the region supplied long and priced low.
