Pipelaying Pride arrives

Turkish builder Hidrodinamik Shipyard in Tuzla delivered the converted modular pipelay barge GMCPrideXo Ukrainian energy sector supplier NJSC Chornomor-naftogaz in late February. The conversion of a flat-deck barge into a modern pipelayer was completed in eight months, supervised by GMC, an offshore engineering company. The design is based on GMC's design concept - all equipment is standardised in construction with plug-and-play electrical systems to allow rapid mobilisation and demobilisation. GMC's work included the engineering of the barge and pipelay system, supplying equipment and providing on-site shipyard management for the barge conversion and commissioning. It will be operated by NJSC Chornomomaftogaz.
