Eniram offers just in time choice

A software tool designed to optimise voyage speed has been launched by Eniram. Eniram claims that its Optimum Speed Assistant software tool will change the way the industry manages speed, engine use and fuel consumption. OSA analyses real-time data about current sea conditions alongside historical information ?n a vessel's performance to determine its optimum speed, ensuring just-in-time arrival in port and potentially saving operators up to 3 a year in fuel costs. The software, which builds on Eniram's existing Dynamic Trimming Assistant, is claimed as the only system to combine real-time sea state information with historical data. By allowing operators to sail constantly at the optimum speed profile there is less need to build in 'buffer' time and vary engine speed.
