Richmond P&L Looks For Second Half Supply

In a recently rare RFP from an Illinois Basin utility, Richmond Power & Light is taking bids from producers for 150,000 tons of supply to its Whitewater plant in Richmond, Ind., a coal buyer for the utility told COAL Daily yesterday. Bids are due Friday, April 5. Solicitations have been rare in the Illinois Basin coal markets recently, as surging stockpile levels and low electricity demand have driven spot coal prices down (CD 2/11/02).
