CLT bill to be introduced in US House

New legislation that would mandate the production of 6 billion gallons/yr of coal-to-liquids (CTL) fuel by 2022 could be introduced into the US House next week, according to an announcement today from Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.). Citing high gas prices and the need to reduce US dependence on foreign oil and energy sources, Capito said she intends to sponsor the Clean Coal-Derived Fuels for Energy Security Act, which would support domestic production of coal-derived aviation and motor fuel, home heating oil and boiler fuel sold in the US.
