European Premium: Italian prices firm

In Italy’s premium pellet market, below-average temperatures encouraged activity and increasing demand began to eat up storage volumes pushing prices in the region higher. Prices for bagged premium pellets delivered into northern Italy ticked up ?2.5/t to a ?175-200/t range. A forecast of lower-than-average temperatures in parts of the country could see sales pick up next week as end-users build up stocks for winter which could further firm prices in December, traders said. The rising end-user demand meant distributors' stocks in the country continued to deplete, spurring buying activity.
