Comment on 'Investigation of the period of sawtooth events'by X. Cai and C. R. Clauer

Cai and Clauer [2009] (hereafter referred to as CC09)have recently reported on the period of sawtooth events andthe variability in this quantity. In their investigation theyadopted a new method for defining the sawtooth period,examined the probability distribution of these periods, andclaimed to have identified a bimodal distribution of sub-storm periods. In this comment we examine these points andprovide an alternative interpretation.
