Mexico distributors press for full market opening

Mexican fuel distributors are pressing the government for a full opening of the retail market, rather than a gradual region-byregion approach proposed by the finance ministry. A gradual introduction of market-driven fuel prices could hurt the economy and lead to a price spike, fuel distributors association Onexpo told the congress yesterday. Under the ministry proposal, the government would impose maximum prices in some regions until the end of 2018.
