UK-based joint venture Port Clarence Energy has been grant-ed approval to build a 45MW biomass plant,located north of the River Tees in England,by Stockton Borough Council. The project is a joint venture between Eco2 and Tempo-ris Capital. The plant will burn 325,000 t/yr of locally sourced waste wood. The£160mn($271.5mn)development will include a fuel storage barn,which is to be built on industrial land at Clar-ence Works on the north bank of the River Tees. Construction work on the site is to start by the end of this year and the plant is expected to be completed in 2017.
