New Ireland gateway

The Irish government has approved construction of a new gateway into Ireland at the port of Bremore, just north of Dublin. The project is, however, subject to satisfactory completion of an environmental impact assessment, a foreshore licensing agreement, and county council planning approval. The new deepwater port is urgently needed to alleviate Dublin's growing congestion. It will be developed by the Bremore Port company, a joint venture between state-owned Drogheda Port Company (51) and Castle Market Holdings.
