Cosco Pacific Strikes Container Leaseback Deal

Cosco Pacific's Florens box leasing subsidiary has entered into a deal to sell and lease back containers with the Com-monwealth Bank of Australia (CBA). The Chinese subsidiary of Cosco said that it transferred to the CBA assets with a net book value of around USD242.3 million, and had realised an estimated gain of USD4.2 million after taxes and direct expenses. The assets generated USD3.4 million in net profits in 2007.
