Many stories of lost laptops,hard drives and/or memory sticks that have contained thousands of records of sensitive and/or private data have recently hit the headlines. To the disclosing organisation,it is a huge embarrassment,and to those affected by the loss it can be a long term painful experience.However,the damage caused by data loss is not limited to data about individuals; it also affects private and government corporations,the risks of which are determined by the sensitivity of the data lost.
