Key View: Political volatility, the negative near-term economic outlook due to the Covid-19 pandemic, trade reliance and the crisis in Venezuela pose downside risks for the Latin American medical device market. Latin America's health infrastructure is unlikely to be prepared to contain the Covid-19 pandemic. Upside risks exist for suppliers of selected consumables, diagnostic imaging, therapeutic respiration apparatus, diagnostic tests and other medical devices, which will be offset by downside risks for suppliers of high-tech medical equipment, dental products, orthopaedics & prosthetics and portable aids.
