OOCL's transpacific trade most profitable for Q1 2008

Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has seen the volume that it lifted in Q1 2008 reach 1.16 million TEU - a jump of 11.7% compared to the same period in 2007. Total unaudited revenues shot up by 27.9% to USD1.39 billion and overall average revenue per TEU increased by 14.5%. The overall load factor was down 2.6% from Q1 last year amid a 15.4% increase in loadable capacity, as scheduled new buildings were delivered and deployed, a company statement said.
