Multimodal facility under way in Santos

The Brazilian rail operator MRS Logistica is partnering with the terminal operator Libra Termi-nais to build a new, BRL100 (USD59.8) million intermodal facility for the severely congested port of Santos. Libra Terminals operates the T-35 and T-37 container terminals at Santos, in southern Brazil. Construction work began, at the end of May, on the road/rail Terminal Maritimo do Valongo (Teval). It is scheduled to open by December 2008 and will be located near the Tecondi container terminal.
