South Korean utilities Korea South East Power(Kosep)and Korea East-West Power(EWP)have issued July tenders to buy a combined 250,000t of wood pellets. Kosep has issued five tenders to supply 213,000t of wood pellets across its four plants. Kosep has issued two tenders to supply 127,000t for its 3,340MW Yeongheung thermal power plant,located on Yeongheung Island off the country’s northwest coast. For the first tender,bidders must offer a minimum of 3,000t and can offer up to 60,000t.For the second,bidders must offer a minimum of 3,000t and can offer up to 67,000t. Both tenders are for delivery in July-November and both close on 14 July at 14:00 Korean Standard Time.Bidders are responsible for barge or trucking costs from port to the Yeongheung thermal plant.
