The fob Vietnam spot price rose by $1.79/t to $96.29/t on Wednesday, following a stagnant market a week earlier during South Korea’s legislative elections. And increased interest from Japan may also have supported the spot price. A Japanese buyer had recently closed a tender to supply about 60,000t of wood pellets, with about a third of that volume to be supplied by Vietnam and the remainder by Canada, market participants said.
