ProPellets lobbies against Austrian VAT pellet increase

Austrian wood pellet association ProPellets is lobbying against the Austrian government’s proposed increase in the value added tax (VAT) on wood pellets. The government wants to increase VAT on goods that are classified as having a reduced VAT rate, including wood pellets, to 13pc from 10pc now. ProPellets hopes to get “pellets off the list” of increases, according to the association's chief executive Christian Rakos.
