South Korea: Tenders close

In South Korea, recent tenders have closed at prices that were significantly lower than many people’s expectations in the market. Many thought more stringent specifications and additional sustainability criteria would lead to increased North American cargoes to the region. Vietnamese producers and other southeast Asian producers were able to obtain FSC certification to bid in the tenders through Korean traders much more quickly than had been originally anticipated.
