SCS Global Services selected as SBP applicant

The Sustainable Biomass Partnership (SBP) has accepted a sixth applicant looking to provide certification for biomass producers under the SBP's sustainability framework. Certification body SCS Global Services joins the short list waiting for approval. SBP accepted applications from certification services BM Trada, Control Union, NSF, Bureau Veritas Latvia and Nepcon in December. The bodies are still approved at applicant stage and progress is being made, the group said. The application process could take months and involves an assessment of the certification body’s competence to undertake an audit of a biomass producer, according to SBP.
