The European Investment bank (EIB) has agreed a ?190mn ($200.6mn) loan agreement with Lithuanian state-controlled utility Lietuvos Energija to finance a new combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Vilnius, Lithuania. The plant will consist of a 70MW biomass-powered unit and an 18MW waste-powered unit. The units will have a heat capacity of 227MW. The plant will provide 413 GWh/yr of electricity to the national grid and 1180 GWh/yr towards the district heating system in Vilnius.
