The UK’s department of energy and climate change(Decc) has told Drax that it now intends to award a CfD subsidy to the company for its unit 3 conversion,following a court rul-ing last week that sided with the generator–but has at the same time appealed against that court decision. The high court last week ruled that Decc had acted un-reasonably in refusing Drax a CfD contract at the last stage of the award process,having at earlier stages indicated that the company would get the subsidy.
