Wood chip demand from biomass-fired power projects in France will rise by at least 1.75mn t/yr over the next 18 months,as a string of plants come on line. GDF Suez subsidiary Cofely has started construction of a new biomass power plant at Lacq in the southwest of France.The new plant will consume 160,000 t/yr of wood chips sourced within 100km of the site.
