AEP chief sees CCS tech ready by 2015-2020

American Electric Power (AEP) Chief Executive Michael Morris predicts post-combustion carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology will be ready for pulverized coal plants between 2015 and 2020. To help along the process, he said that his major utility company would not be averse to purchasing a clean coal technology company. Speaking before the US Energy Association today, Morris said that AEP would buy a company "if it would be an enabler to let us bring out that technology more quickly, more cost effectively, we would." He joked afterward, "Do you know somebody who's for sale?"
