European Premium: Italian bulk prices stabilise

Spot bulk prices for premium wood pellets delivered into the northern Italian market were stable at European dollar 140/t, following a fall of European dollar 2.50/t a week earlier, but the weaker prices failed to attract much interest. Because of the reduced demand over the summer season, most buying interest is being fulfilled by smaller volumes trucked from Europe rather than large bulk vessels. Discussions for front winter supply were in the European dollar 145-150/t range for Baltic supply, traders said.
